Tree planting activity by staffs and students from INST

Members of staff and students from the Institute of Nuclear Science & Technology joined other members and stakeholders of the University of Nairobi in a tree planting exercise as part of the UoN@50 celebration in a bid to help in the environmental conservation efforts. The tree planting was in partnership with the Equity Group Foundation, Kenya Forest Service, Ministry of Environment and Forestry, Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Interior & Coordination of National government.  More than 5,000 trees donated by Equity Foundation Group to promote environmental conservation and to stress the importance of fresh air( oxygen) during this period of Covid-19 planted in various part of the University. 

About 3,000 trees were  planted on 18th May  2021,  in identified grounds at the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Services and the Wangari Maathai Institute. The remaining 2,000 seedlings were be distributed to various campuses to plant in their environs. The event was lead by University Vice Chanchelor, Prof Kiama
