Student at INST awarded the First Queen Elizabeth Common wealth Scholarship MALAYA

Elly Kombo Wafula, a student at INST undertaking MSc studies in Nuclear Science, is currently in Malaysia pursuing a Master in
Medical Physics at the Faculty of Medicine in UNIVERSITI MALAYA after being the only selected applicant from among 800 applicants who applied to pursue their studies at UM. The Queen Elizabeth Commonwealth Scholarship (QECS) is a unique opportunity established under the Association of Commonwealth Universities (ACU) whereby recipients are given the opportunity to pursue a two-year Master’s degree in a low or middle-income Commonwealth country. Aimed at students who are committed to creating change in their communities, the scholarships are a life-changing opportunity to experience a new country and culture, to broaden horizons, and to build global networks that will last a lifetime.

Elly's primary motivation for choosing this path is to contribute to the Government of Kenya Big 4 Agenda on Universal Health care by ensuring the safety of cancer patients during treatment and diagnosis.
