Atmospheric Science for Sustainable Development

Professor Johan Boman, University of Gothenburg, department of chemistry and molecular biology, gave a seminar on Atmospheric Science for Sustainable Development at the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology on 7th December 2018

Professor Boman started by giving the background of Atmospheric Science with its wide spectrum of research questions to address to better understand the physical and chemical processes of the atmosphere. He draws on his experience of air quality studies in Nairobi to exemplify the linking between air quality and a sustainable development on a local scale. By the end of his presentation, he showed how the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the UN are linked together by explaining how atmospheric science can actually be linked to all of the 17 goals.
