The University of Nairobi participated during the 1st ISNT IGNITE International NDE Symposium, Nov 3 -4, 2018, IIT Madras, Chennai, India. Two papers by John Birir and Wilson Kairu, staffs at the Institute of Nuclear Science & Technology, were accepted for oral presentation during the symposium. 

The symposium was organised by the Research Scholars at the Centre for Nondestructive Evaluation (CNDE), Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM), as part of the IGNITE initiative of the ‘Research in NDT committee’ of Indian Society for Non Destructive Testing (ISNT). The objective of the IGNITE Symposium on Non-Destructive Evaluation (NDE) was to propagate awareness and promote NDT research in academia, spearheaded by students and scholars.

The event was meant for students in graduate and post-graduate programs to network with experts in one of the most exciting fields of science and engineering. The symposium addressed topics related to NDT methods including but not limited to ultrasound, X-ray, thermal imaging etc.
