IAEA/OIOS Evaluation Exercise on Industrial Applications in Kenya

The IAEA/OIOS evaluation exercise in the country kicked off yesterday, 1st October 2018 at the Institute of Nuclear Science and Technology.

The IAEA team comprising of Dr. Anguel Anastassov and Dr. Rachad Alami  was received by Prof. P. Ngau, the Principal College of Architecture & Engineering and Prof. Michael Gatari, Director INST.
The team will be conducting an evaluation exercise from 1-5 October 2018 on the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, impact and sustainability of various IAEA supported projects in Kenya in the area of industrial applications (NDT, radiotracers, gamma column and pipe scanning). The aim is to improve the IAEA work in this and related fields, and to identify and share good practices and lessons learned. This will ultimately accelerate and enlarge the contribution of atomic energy to peace, health and prosperity in the country.
The IAEA team is expected to meet various stakeholders and end users of industrial applications in Kenya. Among the Institutions to visit is the Kenya Nuclear Electricity Board (KNEB), Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure, Housing & Urban Development, Quality Inspectors Limited and Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS)
