NDT TRAINING COURSE

The Institute of Nuclear Science & Technology, College of Architecture and Engineering, University of Nairobi successfully hosted a training course to introduce the principles and skills of Nondestructive Testing (NDT) to engineers, scientists, and technologists from 2 to 4 July 2018. The training overarching goal is the promotion of NDT knowledge in Government and Private Sector/industry in the perspective of assessing and inspecting of the infrastructure for quality and safety. 

The following areas were covered during the course:
Radiographic Testing: Physical Principles of Radiography; Equipment and Radiation sources; Photographic Recording; Codes and standards; Welding Defect and Film Interpretation. 
Ultrasonic Testing: Principles of Ultrasonic Testing; Equipment Setting Up; Standard Operating Procedure; Interpretation & Reporting
Magnetic Particle Testing: Principles of Magnetic Particle Testing; Equipment Setting Up; Standard Operating Procedure; Interpretation & Reporting
Liquid Penetrant Testing: Principles of Liquid Penetrant Testing; Equipment Setting Up; Standard Operating Procedure; Interpretation & Reporting
